Vasiliki Legaki  

Vasiliki Legaki studied classical guitar with Iakovos Kolanian and theoretically at the Athens Contemporary Conservatory. Her studies continued in London, where she graduated from Royal Holloway with a degree (BMus) in musicology, and Master’s (MMus) in composition, with distinction.

As an active composer, her works have been presented at major festivals in Greece and abroad, such as Darmstadt Summer Festival (Germany), Impuls Academy (Austria), Sound of Wander (Italy), St Magnus International Festival (Scotland), Delian Academy of New Music (Greece), MusicFest 2016 (Wales).

Vasiliki’s work has been distinguished by awarding the first prize and audience prize to the 32nd International Alea III Synthesis Competition (Boston, USA) for the work of The Passage, written for seven ballet, and an honorary praise for the work of 43 sunsets in the competition composition Sorodha for solo Maribas (Antwerp, Belgium). She has also composed music for the Park Lane Group Young Artists Spring Series and Music In The Village in London.

Vasiliki Legaki has collaborated with distinguished musicians and ensembles who have also performed her work, including guitarist Xuefei Yang, accordionist JanneValkeajoki, guitarist George Tosikian, BBC Singers, Trio Accanto, Fidelio Trio, Magnard Ensemble, Quartetto Indaco, and the orchestras Angel Orchestra and Orion Orchestra.

The list of her works includes solo and orchestral music, works for dance and musical theater, choral music, as well as solo voice music.
